Providing assistance for education to children of farmers committed suicide due to agricultural distress in Yavatmal & Washim district of Maharashtra.

Realizing importance of continuing education of the children of farmer suicide affected families DDSP provided financial assistance in the form of educational aid to these children. Entire expenditure including that on lodging, boarding, school fees, and coaching where necessary is provided. Urban people are encouraged to adopt a child for education purpose by bearing the cost. In addition to above hostel facilities are provided free of cost to boys form such families at Vivekanand Chhatravas, Yavatmal and to the girl students at Tejasvini Chhatravas, Yavatmal. Besides lodging and boarding facilities, efforts are made to inculcate good values and culture among the students through various daily and occasional programmes in these hostels. Need based assistance has been provided which ranged between Rs. 5,000/- to Rs. 20,000/- per child per year. Higher amount has also been provided in some cases where children were competent to go for professional courses.

 The project is implemented out of the donations received from individuals and institutions.
